Last week at Equipo, we received a very special parcel: Puma’s teaser campaign with Valencia C.F in anticipation of them becoming the club’s official kit supplier next season. Since the team currently continue their contract with Adidas, Puma had to come up with an ingenious way of presenting this upcoming collaboration.

The entire campaign centres around the concept of Valentía – braveness – the name given to the city of Valencia by the Romans when they first discovered it. In this ancient version of the city, an old coin was used as currency. The latter, with it’s unique inscriptions, was discovered just a few years ago.

And so, Puma used these features of the city to create a full commemorative pack in ode to the city and it’s football club, which is celebrating it’s centenary year this season. The pack includes two coins, with a replica of the ancient inscription on one side and the famous leaping puma on the reverse, as well as an orange and black silk scarf adorned with images representative of the city and its football club.



This release was complemented by a mural in the city centre made up of hundreds of these replica coins, which together read Valentía. For one day only, fans could approach the wall and grab as many coins from it as they wanted, taking away with them a unique item linking their city, their club, and of course, Puma.
